At 16:00 on June 19, 2023, as the Liberian "Blue Dream Star" cruise ship slowly departed from the Pingtan International Cruise Terminal in Fujian, Pingtan International Tourism Island entered the era of cruise ships and opened a new chapter in Fujian's cruise industry.

This voyage is the first the Belt and Road international cruise line of Pingtan International Tourism Island, and also the first international route ushered in by the newly opened Pingtan International Cruise Terminal.

The total tonnage of the "Blue Dream Star" cruise ship is 25000 tons, with a maximum passenger capacity of 1053 people. The international cruise route from Pingtan to the Philippines to Xiamen, which made its maiden voyage, will last for 5 days and 4 nights. The opening of this route will further promote the deepening of opening-up and cooperation of Pingtan International Tourism Island, inject new impetus into the expansion of maritime tourism channels in the coastal areas of Fujian, and accelerate the construction of a strong maritime province.

In addition, Pingtan International Tourism Island plans to open more international routes to Japan, Southeast Asia, and other regions within the year, further enriching the supply of tourism products and enhancing the attractiveness of tourism destinations.

Pingtan International Tourism Island is located in Pingtan County, Fujian Province, in the southern and northern parts of the Haitan Strait. It is an important window for Fujian to open up to the outside world and an important platform for cross-strait exchanges.
