[Hunan Jianghuawan water pumped storage power station started]On November 13, the groundbreaking ceremony of Jianghuawan water source pumped storage Power Station in Hunan was successfully held in Xiangjiang Township, Jianghua Yao Autonomous County, marking that the project has entered the construction and implementation stage. The groundbreaking ceremony was presided over by He Enguang, Standing Committee member and Vice mayor of Yongzhou Municipal Committee of Hunan Province, and Zhu Hongwu, secretary of Yongzhou Municipal Party Committee, announced the start of the project. The person in charge of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Central and Southern Hospitals attended the commencement ceremony and spoke as the representative of the participating units. Jianghuawan water source pumped storage Power Station is investigated and designed by Zhongnan Institute and is a key implementation project of the 14th Five-Year Plan of the National Medium and Long Term Pumped Storage Development Plan (2021-2035). The project, with a total investment of about 9 billion yuan and an installed capacity of 1.4 million kilowatts, consists of upper reservoir, lower reservoir, water transmission system, underground workshop, ground switching station, etc., which mainly undertakes the tasks of peak regulation, valley filling, energy storage, frequency modulation, phase modulation and emergency backup of Hunan power grid. After the project is completed and put into operation, it will better serve the overall situation of the national strategy of "reaching the peak of carbon and carbon neutrality", enhance the adjustment capacity of Hunan power grid, accelerate the construction of a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system, and become an important support for promoting high-quality regional economic development. According to the press office of the State Grid Management Corporation of Kazakhstan (KEGOC), China Power International Development Co., Ltd. will introduce a power storage system to Kazakhstan. KEGOC pointed out in the news that the implementation agreement of the pilot project for the introduction of energy storage systems in Kazakhstan's unified energy system was signed in Beijing on December 4. "Under the agreement, China Power International Development Co., Ltd. will install a power storage system with a maximum capacity of 5 MW at the Kazakh State Grid Management Joint Stock Company substation," KEGOC said in a statement. According to KEGOC, the project aims to "study the impact of the power storage system on the distribution of the power system when the renewable energy power is incorporated into the unified power system of Kazakhstan." Denmark's GreenGo has launched the Megaton Moon project in Mauritania, a 60 GW solar-wind power facility equipped with 35 GW of green hydrogen capacity. The project developer submitted a development application to the Mauritanian Ministry of Petroleum, Energy and Mines this week. The Megaton Moon project will be built in several phases, with the initial pilot phase expected to be completed in 2028 and the final phase to be completed between 2033 and 2035. In addition, the project will generate more than 70 million tons of desalinated water per year, which will be three times the amount of water consumed by the Megaton facility to produce green hydrogen itself. GreenGo said the project will also use more than 10 TWh of surplus energy to promote the development of large-scale agricultural industries and local supply chains in the desert region. "Developing a project of this scale requires close cooperation with the supply chain and purchasers," said Anders Heine Jensen, CEO of GreenGo. "The scale of the project will attract manufacturers to produce photovoltaic panels, wind turbine blades and electrolytic components locally. We are currently negotiating a Memorandum of Agreement with the manufacturer." Editor/Xu Shengpeng
