On November 15, 2023, a meeting was held to promote the construction of the "Linxian Expressway Connection" and "Township Convenience Connection" projects in Fujian Province. 27 projects began construction in a concentrated manner, and 13 projects will start construction in December, fully serving rural revitalization.

At the end of 2015, Fujian had achieved the goal of "connecting cities with high-speed railways, counties with expressways, towns with trunk lines, and villages with buses". As of the end of 2022, the total length of highways in the province reached 114000 kilometers, and the total length of expressways was 6156 kilometers, forming the main framework of "three vertical and nine horizontal". The "Two Connection Project" of "Linxian Expressway Connection" and "Township Convenience Connection" will further optimize and improve the highway network and traffic efficiency in Fujian Province, enhance the resilience of the road network channels, fully leverage the role of highways in "radiating and driving" between urban and rural areas and "horizontal connectivity" between neighboring counties, continue to promote convenient travel and agricultural product logistics between counties, promote regional and urban-rural coordinated development, and assist in rural revitalization.

In June 2023, Fujian took the lead in implementing the "Two Links Project" nationwide, with the goal of promoting 100% convenient transportation of highways between neighboring counties, and more transportation hubs such as land towns, important tourist attractions, important industrial parks, and important transportation hubs reaching highways within 30 minutes. A number of transportation infrastructure projects were scientifically planned and constructed, totaling 132 projects with a total investment of 296.3 billion yuan. As of now, 7 projects have been completed and 28 are under construction, with a cumulative investment of 26.53 billion yuan. It is expected that by 2025, Fujian Province will achieve 213 pairs of convenient highways in neighboring counties, accounting for 85.9% of the total. It will also enable 90% of land towns, 90% of important tourist attractions, 100% of important industrial parks, and 100% of important transportation hubs to access the highways within 30 minutes.
