[Powerchina signed the Jingning pumped storage power Station project] On November 6, PowerChina and Voith Hydro signed a supply contract for the host equipment of Zhejiang Jingning pumped storage Power Station at the 6th China International Import Expo. Mr. Xu Pengcheng, Deputy General Manager of Power China, and Mr. Long Jiewen, President and CEO of Voith Hydro Asia Pacific, led their respective teams to participate in the signing ceremony. Mr. Liu Fuxue, Deputy Director of the China International Import Expo Bureau and Party Secretary of the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai), Mr. LukasMeyer, Deputy Consul General of the German Consulate General in Shanghai, and Mr. JonathanSchoo, Vice President of the Association of German Overseas Chambers of Commerce in Greater China, witnessed the signing ceremony. Zhejiang Jingning Pumped storage Power Station is a key implementation project of the national "Medium and Long Term Pumped Storage Development Plan (2021-2035)", and it is also the first pumped storage power station invested and constructed during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period of PowerChina Huadong Hospital. The total installed capacity of the project is 1400MW, equipped with four single-stage mixed-flow reversible units with a single output of 350MW. After the smooth operation, the Jingning pumped storage power Station will provide key functions for the Zhejiang power grid, such as peak loading, valley filling, energy storage, frequency modulation, phase modulation and backup, and provide strong support for the stable supply of clean energy. • [Mauritania launched a large-scale renewable energy hydrogen storage project]
  • Denmark's GreenGo has launched the Megaton Moon project in Mauritania, a 60 GW solar-wind power facility equipped with 35 GW of green hydrogen capacity. The project developer submitted a development application to the Mauritanian Ministry of Petroleum, Energy and Mines this week. The Megaton Moon project will be built in several phases, with the initial pilot phase expected to be completed in 2028 and the final phase to be completed between 2033 and 2035. In addition, the project will generate more than 70 million tons of desalinated water per year, which will be three times the amount of water consumed by the Megaton facility to produce green hydrogen itself. GreenGo said the project will also use more than 10 TWh of surplus energy to promote the development of large-scale agricultural industries and local supply chains in the desert region. "Developing a project of this scale requires close cooperation with the supply chain and purchasers," said Anders Heine Jensen, CEO of GreenGo. "The scale of the project will attract manufacturers to produce photovoltaic panels, wind turbine blades and electrolytic components locally. We are currently negotiating a Memorandum of Agreement with the manufacturer." Editor/Xu Shengpeng
