On November 8, 2023, the centralized commencement ceremony for the urban village renovation project in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province was held. An Wei, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, announced the start of the project, and Vice Governor Liu Yujiang delivered a speech.

The urban village renovation projects that have started construction this time are mainly the demolition and construction projects that have already been demolished in the early stage and are currently being implemented. They involve seven urban villages, including Binhe New Residence in Airport District, Zhaocun in High tech Zone, Zhaopo in Zhongyuan District, Chenzhai in Jinshui District, Jingzhai Honghua Temple in Erqi District, Yaozhuang Langzhuang in Guancheng District, and Guxing in Huiji District, with a total construction area of approximately 1.638 million square meters and a total investment of 12.712 billion yuan. The construction will be completed by the end of 2026.
