[Hunan Construction Stone Limestone Mine Project Commences] On November 1, 2023, the "EPC+O" project for the construction stone limestone mine in Lianhuashan, Shaoyang, Hunan Province, which is controlled by Guiyang Institute under China Electric Power Construction Corporation and shares in the No. 9 Hydropower Bureau, held a commencement ceremony, marking the official start of construction of the project. The project is located in Dongtian Village, Jiugongqiao Town, Shaoyang County, Shaoyang City, Hunan Province. The mining type is limestone ore, which is a key project in promoting the high-quality development of the mechanical sand and gravel industry in Shaoyang City. The system is designed with an annual output of 3 million tons and an estimated recoverable resource reserve of 44.39 million tons. The construction period of the project is 180 calendar days, and it is planned to be completed and put into operation (trial operation) in 2024. The infrastructure construction period is 1 year, and the production and operation period is 15 years. The sand and gravel processing system is located on the northwest side of the mining area, mainly including the coarse crushing workshop, semi-finished material warehouse, intermediate crushing workshop, screening workshop, desilting workshop, mud powder storage yard, sand regulating material warehouse, sand making workshop, finished material warehouse, and loading material warehouse. • [Mauritania launched a large-scale renewable energy hydrogen storage project]
  • Denmark's GreenGo has launched the Megaton Moon project in Mauritania, a 60 GW solar-wind power facility equipped with 35 GW of green hydrogen capacity. The project developer submitted a development application to the Mauritanian Ministry of Petroleum, Energy and Mines this week. The Megaton Moon project will be built in several phases, with the initial pilot phase expected to be completed in 2028 and the final phase to be completed between 2033 and 2035. In addition, the project will generate more than 70 million tons of desalinated water per year, which will be three times the amount of water consumed by the Megaton facility to produce green hydrogen itself. GreenGo said the project will also use more than 10 TWh of surplus energy to promote the development of large-scale agricultural industries and local supply chains in the desert region. "Developing a project of this scale requires close cooperation with the supply chain and purchasers," said Anders Heine Jensen, CEO of GreenGo. "The scale of the project will attract manufacturers to produce photovoltaic panels, wind turbine blades and electrolytic components locally. We are currently negotiating a Memorandum of Agreement with the manufacturer." Editor/Xu Shengpeng
