On August 31, 2023, the World's First 630 ℃ National Power Demonstration Project Promotion Conference was held, marking the comprehensive launch of the main project of the Datang Yuncheng 630 ℃ Ultra Supercritical Reheat National Power Demonstration Project. This project installs two 1 million kilowatt ultra supercritical secondary reheat coal-fired power generation units, which are China's "highest pressure, highest temperature, highest efficiency, and lowest coal consumption" single shaft million kilowatt thermal power units.

It is understood that the total investment of this project is 9.3 billion yuan. After being put into operation, the annual power generation can reach 10 billion kilowatt hours, saving 350000 tons of standard coal and reducing 945000 tons of carbon dioxide compared to conventional coal-fired power units. This can drive local tax revenue of 500 million yuan, create more than 2000 job opportunities, and greatly promote the coordinated development of local economy and society.

The Datang Yuncheng National Electric Power Demonstration Project aggregates high-quality resources from the entire industrial chain of China's thermal power equipment, carries out scientific research and innovation, with reheat steam temperature of 630 ℃ and electricity generation efficiency exceeding 50% as demonstration points. The unit is designed with a main steam pressure of 35.5 MPa and a coal consumption of 256.28 grams per kilowatt hour for power supply. Adopting the top 10 innovative technologies, especially the domestically developed new generation martensitic heat-resistant steel G115 ® The first application of new materials in power equipment has filled the technological gap in the field of national high-temperature resistant material research and development, and is of great significance for accelerating the process of equipment localization. It will drive the design, manufacturing, new materials, and new processes of China's thermal power equipment to a new level.

The Datang Yuncheng National Electric Power Demonstration Project, as the only one million kilowatt level coal power demonstration project approved by the country during the 13th Five Year Plan period and a major project for the conversion of new and old energy in Shandong Province, will further consolidate China's leading position in the field of coal power technology in the world. It is an innovative practice for China to fully implement the national "dual carbon" strategy and build clean and efficient advanced coal power based on the basic national conditions of coal as the main source.
