On August 31, 2023, the commencement ceremony of the Chengwu Caoxian section of the Jining Shangqiu Expressway in Shandong Province was held in Chengwu County. Vice Mayor Xiao Youhua delivered a speech on site and announced the launch of the ceremony.

Project Overview

The starting point of the Chengwu Caoxian section of the Jishang Expressway project is located on the east side of Lizhuang Village in Baifutu Town, Chengwu County, connecting with the Jiaxiang Jinxiang section of the Jining Shangqiu Expressway, and the ending point is located on the south side of Nanyuan Village in Wulou Town, Caoxian County, connecting with the Jiguang Expressway. The total length of the route is 65.651km, constructed according to the standard of a two-way six lane expressway, with a design speed of 120km/h. There are a total of 7 interchanges, 1 service area, and 4 ramp toll stations along the entire line, with a total length of 8157m/87 bridges, including 1 super large bridge of 1301m, 10 large bridges of 2459m/10, and 20 medium bridges of 1512m/20. The proportion of bridges is 12.43%, and there are no tunnels. The approved budget for this project is 10.877 billion yuan.

The section from Chengwu to Caoxian on the Jishang Expressway is an important section from Qingdao to Shangqiu in the "14th Five Year Plan" of Shandong Province's highway network. It is an important transportation channel for the Jiaodong Peninsula to pass through Weifang, Jining, and Shangqiu. After the completion of the project, it will form a fast passenger transportation channel and a large capacity freight channel in the southern region of Shandong, further enhancing the accessibility of Heze City to the Central Plains region and even the Yangtze River Economic Belt. This is of great significance in assisting Heze's high-quality development, improving the transportation conditions in southwestern Shandong, and improving the layout of Shandong Province's highway network.
