On the morning of August 26, 2023, accompanied by the drilling of the first pile foundation, the Chongqing Baoshan Jialing River Bridge project, organized and implemented by Chongqing Urban Investment Infrastructure Construction Co., Ltd. and constructed by China Communications Second Navigation Bureau, was fully started. The project construction pressed the "fast forward" button.

The Chongqing Baoshan Jialing River Bridge Project is located within the territory of Chongqing City, with a total length of approximately 3.34 kilometers. It starts from the West Qiaotou Interchange in Shilong Village, Caijia District, Beibei District in the west, crosses the Jialing River, and ends at the Chunxuan Interchange in Yuelai District, Liangjiang New Area in the east, including Baoshan Jialing River Bridge and Chunxuan Interchange. The project is designed according to the standards of urban expressways, with a speed of 80 kilometers per hour, a standard section width of 39 meters, and eight lanes in both directions. The Baoshan Jialing River Bridge has a total length of 1135 meters, of which the main bridge in the river crossing section is a control project of this project, with a length of 530 meters and a main span of 250 meters. It is a variable cross-section prestressed concrete continuous rigid frame bridge, consisting of two main piers, P3 and P4, with heights of 70 meters and 77 meters respectively. The diameter of the main pier pile foundation is 2.8 meters, and the pile length is 30 meters, totaling 48. The Chunxuan Interchange is a variant "8-shaped" interchange with a total of 8 ramps.

Since the project team entered the site, with the attention and support of the Yangtze River Water Resources Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources, Chongqing Housing and Urban Rural Development Commission, Planning and Resources Bureau, Transportation Bureau and other competent departments, the flood impact assessment has been successfully completed, and the land allocation decision, engineering planning permit, construction permit, etc. have been obtained, accelerating the implementation of the project. With the full cooperation of various parties involved, including the construction unit CCCC Second Navigation Bureau, the construction unit Chongqing Urban Infrastructure Construction Co., Ltd., and the supervision unit Guangzhou Huashen Construction Engineering Management Co., Ltd., the project has completed preliminary work such as the construction of the site, the construction of the steel bar processing plant, the construction of three supplies and one leveling, and the construction of materials and machinery. Currently, the relocation of the pipeline network and technical preparation are progressing according to plan, laying a solid foundation for the comprehensive construction of the project.

The Baoshan Jialing River Bridge project is the throat project of the Chongqing Expressway Network System's eight horizontal, seven vertical, one ring, and nine connecting expressway five connecting lines. It is an important cross river and mountain passage in the northern district of the main city of Chongqing, and also an important urban trunk road that connects the development of the new area with the built-up area, guides the development of the Caijia honeycomb city, and strengthens the transportation connection outside the National Expo Center. After the completion of the project, the transportation function of the cross river bridge can be effectively utilized, connecting the Caijia, Yuelai, and Central Park areas, improving the urban transportation network, and driving the economic development of the surrounding areas.

The Baoshan Jialing River Bridge is the fifth bridge we have built on the Jialing River. According to Yu Dingjun, the project manager of the Baoshan Jialing River Bridge of China Communications Second Navigation Bureau, the total number of bridges constructed by the bureau in Chongqing has reached 17. Among them, Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge, Baijusi Yangtze River Bridge, Qiansimen Jialing River Bridge and other bridge construction records have been set, contributing to the economic and social development and cultural accumulation of the "bridge capital Chongqing".
